The Gibson McGath Foundation’s Shop Class Program Completes First Tiny Home!

We are thrilled to share an exciting update from The Gibson McGath Foundation! The foundation’s inaugural Shop Class program successfully wrapped up in May 2024 with the completion of its first project—a beautifully crafted tiny home. This milestone marks a significant achievement for the students and mentors involved, showcasing their hard work, dedication, and craftsmanship.

The Shop Class program, launched by The Gibson McGath Foundation, aims to provide high school students with practical, hands-on experience in construction and design. Over the course of the school year, students learned valuable skills such as carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, and interior design. Guided by experienced professionals, they applied these skills to build a fully functional tiny home from the ground up.

The completed tiny home is a testament to the students’ teamwork and newly acquired skills. Featuring a modern design with efficient use of space, the tiny home includes a cozy living area, a compact kitchen, a comfortable sleeping loft, and a full bathroom. Every detail, from the sustainable materials used to the energy-efficient appliances, reflects the program’s commitment to quality and sustainability.

Now, this stunning tiny home is available for sale, with all proceeds directly supporting the Shop Class program for the 2024-2025 school year. The goal is to ensure that future students can attend the program at no cost, allowing more young minds to benefit from this incredible educational opportunity.

We invite you to join us in supporting The Gibson McGath Foundation’s Shop Class program.
